From First Rehearsal to Final Bow in 24 Hours!
Footlights Theater Company is taking on the ultimate theater challenge! Students will meet for the first time on Friday evening, then rehearse, build, create, and bring Seussical Jr. to the stage just 24 hours later.

Friday, December 4 – Saturday, December 5, 2026

Grades 6–12
Students arrive Friday evening to receive their roles and begin rehearsals. Over the next 24 hours, the company will learn the music, staging, and choreography, work alongside the creative and technical teams, and bring the entire production to life.
Twenty-four hours after it begins, the curtain goes up.
The Schedule
Friday, December 4 | 5:00–10:00 PM
Company kickoff, casting, and first rehearsals
Saturday, December 5 | 8:00 AM–8:00 PM
A full day of rehearsals, staging, choreography, tech, and final preparations, culminating in a 7:00 PM performance.
Join the Company
Open to students in grades 6–12. No previous Footlights experience is required.
Registration: $195 per student
Registration includes participation in the full 24-hour experience and the Saturday evening performance.
More than a Musical
This production puts students at the center of the creative process. A student director will assemble and lead a production team, with young artists taking on meaningful roles both onstage and behind the scenes. In just 24 hours, they’ll collaborate, make creative decisions, solve problems, and take real ownership of bringing Seussical Jr. to life.
What to Expect
Students should arrive ready for an intensive, fast-paced, and incredibly fun theater experience. Meals and breaks will be built into the schedule, and families will receive detailed information about what to bring, what to wear, and other logistics before the event.
The Performance
After 24 hours of creating, rehearsing, and collaborating, the company will take the stage for a performance of Seussical Jr. at 7:00 PM on Saturday,
December 5.
